A Peek Into 2023’s First Semester!
What an incredible first half of the year we have had at Farm School! Our Thursday’s seem to land on some of the most beautiful days (regardless of the season) and we feel so lucky to have such an awesome crew with us sharing in all of it’s goodness!
We covered a variety of topics this term including themes like:
The Study Of Seasons: Fall & Winter, Pond Life, Autumn Trees, Woodland Animals, Backyard Birds, Thanksgiving & Gratitude, Evergreen Trees, The Joy Of Giving, Animals in Winter (Hibernation & Adaption), and Art Explosion! Each week, we dive into our themes with hands-on sensory experiences, crafts, stories, and games. Everyone’s binders are filling up with their individual projects that always provide us with a unique perspective on each of them. Everyone seems to see, create, learn, and express themselves with art so differently! It’s a gift to watch them use and express this in a variety of ways.
Your amazing kids are never short on creativity and imagination. We’ve watched them become more and more autonomous as they gain comfort in both the place they are in and the people they are with. They have found the Farm School rhythm and are thriving! We are able to shift between outside play, inside structured time, barn time, and eating times rather flawlessly as each of them have gained confidence in their roles here. We have also loved getting to see some of our older friends connecting with our younger friends. Your school-aged kids are incredible helpers to our little learners and the benefit seems to go both ways as our older students build confidence in what they are capable of doing.
We have loved getting to share these past few months with you and your kids. We can’t wait for this second half of the year as we enter into our spring months and begin to experience together the outside world coming back to life!
