Second Semester Farm School 2023!

What an amazing second semester we had at Farm School! 2023 brought about exciting adventures, new friendships, nature field trips, and lots and lots of paint. The weather is always unpredictable in our area (as all my fellow upstate New Yorkers are well aware of) but over the years we have come to appreciate what every season has to offer. Eventually, we were able to shed our snow pants for lightweight jackets and soak up some of the spring sunshine.

Some of the topics we covered the second half of the year included the following:

Tuesday Nature Study: Winter Ponds, Winter Trees, Moon Study, EarthWorms, Evergreens, Wildflowers, Nesting Birds, Garden Snails, Plant Life Cycle, Spring Flowers, and all things BUGS!

Thursday Crew: Imagination, The Love of Stories, Art Explosion, Children Around The World, Nests, Pajama Day, All About Family, Grace & Manners, All About Family, Spring Flowers, HoneyBees, & Adventure is Out There!

The amount of growth we saw this year was incredible. So many new relationships emerged and old friendships were strengthened as we progressed towards the end of the year. We have the honor of watching these learners, who are all in various stages of development, interact together, work together, and explore together… and it’s a beautiful thing. The younger friends always seem to find comfort with the help and encouragement of an older friend and the older crew takes pride in knowing they’re being help to the group and setting an example. We are blown away at the beautiful little community that has come from Farm School!

At the end of each year, we are always challenged by the new and exciting ways in which we can aide our explorers in their learning. We cannot wait for what’s ahead! Thanks to everyone who has been with us this year and, no matter where your education journey takes you and your family, you are always apart of the farm school family!
